Structural engineering forms the major part of our work. We provide state of the art, practical and economic solutions in concrete, steel, masonry and timber. The majority of the projects are based around a JCT "Design & Build" contract with novation agreement to the main contractor, although we do carry out work under the more conventional JCT "With Quantities", and standard "Design & Build" procurement routes. Typical projects include University buildings in Oxford and Egham, Barclays Bank branch alterations, health authority surgeries, breweries and housing association developments.
CIVIL ENGINEERING : In association with structural projects and independently, we carry out design and supervision of car parks, highways, foul and surface water drainage (private and adopted), earth retaining structures and ground improvement.
REFURBISHMENT, RETRO FIT & CONSERVATION : Refurbishment, structural maintenance and improvements are an integrated part of the structural engineering carried out in the company. We currently have a number of long term appointments where our services are retained annually to provide structural surveys, specialist testing of structural elements, design and specification of repairs and strengthening. We have also dealt with a number of listed buildings, including Brakspear Brewery, Henley, a number of public houses, restoration of a farm museum at Whitney, Market House, Thame and Town Halls at Wallingford and Henley.
SITE INVESTIGATION : The company has been heavily involved in inner city redevelopment projects, especially disused industrial sites with contamination problems. We provide site histories and assessments, specifications and methodologies for redevelopment.
